APRIL IS FOR RENEWAL

Just as things are beginning to bloom and open up, I view April as the month of renewal, starting new and fresh.

I'll start this month's blog off with a quote from Run Rose Run, the new novel by Dolly Parton and James Patterson:

"Help us give books to kids who need them, who crave them and whose lives will be changed forever by them….because books, my friends, are true magic bound between two covers."

REVIEW TIME

I just finished reading Run, Rose, Run. I normally don't read James Patterson, but hey, who doesn't like Dolly? It is a wonderfully written and edge of your seat novel. If you like the lights of Nashville and all that goes with it, and then throw in a lot of suspicious characters with an unlikely star, you'll be cheering as much as I did until the very end! Dolly also includes the lyrics to twelve songs from the book that’s on her new album.

For those of you who remember the Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot (which became a major motion picture starring Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway), she also has an adult collection. I just finished her audiobook No Judgments. It moved very fast and had a great story about a pending hurricane coming to Little Bridge, Florida and those who choose to stay behind and weather it.

I just started the second one in this collection called No Offense. So far, it's just as good and moving along at a nice pace. It centers on a librarian, new to town who finds a baby in the bathroom stall of the library. What does this have to do with the set of crime sprees taking place on the island of Little Bridge, Florida? Well I guess you will have to listen and find out!
